Nepal secured a thrilling victory over the USA in a Super Over, taking an invincible 2-0 lead in their T20 series.
In a nail-biting finish, Nepal secured a dramatic victory against the United States at Grand Prairie Stadium in Dallas, ended with both teams tied at 170 runs after 20 overs, forcing the contest into a one-over eliminator where Nepal emerged victorious.
Nepal batted first, setting a target of 171 after winning the toss. The standout performer was Kushal Bhurtel, whose explosive unbeaten 92 off 54 balls propelled the team to 170/6. Anil Shah contributed 25 off 31, while Gulshan Jha and captain Rohit Paudel chipped in with 19 and 18 runs respectively. Jasdeep Singh and Nosthush Kenjige were the top bowlers for the US, each claiming two wickets, while Saurabh Netravalkar added one.

The US, in their chase, looked poised to win with Aaron Jones leading the charge. He scored a commanding 62 runs, while Saiteja Mukkamalla added a solid 47.
With seven runs needed in the final over, Nepal’s Sompal Kami turned the game on its head, taking two crucial wickets and conceding just six runs, leveling the score and pushing the match to a Super Over.
In the Super Over, Nepal’s captain Rohit Paudel managed to score 3 runs, but the bowling attack once again took center stage. Karan KC and Sompal Kami restricted the US, sealing a historic series win for Nepal on US soil.
Earlier, in the first T20 match of the series, Nepal had defeated the US by 17 runs. With their 2-0 lead, Nepal has already secured the series, and the third and final match, set for October 21, will be a formality before the start of a triangular series featuring Scotland as part of the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup League 2.
